2016 BLACK HISTORY ESSAY CONTEST THEME:

“EXPLAIN WHY THE DEATH OF TRAYVON MARTIN WAS NOT THE BEGINNING OF THE “BLACK LIVES MATTER” MOVEMENT.

ALL ESSAYS ARE DUE BY FEBRUARY 19, 2016

Rules for Writing Essays:

1) All essays are to be typewritten; double-spaced and must be between 300 to 
500 words.

2) Type font size must be #12; the preferred font style is Times New Roman or 
Arial.

3) Essays must have a cover sheet attached, which will include only the following information: a) Name of student, first and last name. b) Grade level of student. c) Name of student’s English teacher. d) Telephone number and email address of the student.

4) Number of words in the essay being submitted. (Use Word Count)

5) Any quotations or excerpts that appear in the essay are to be clearly referenced.

Everyone who is eligible should be working on the local Jack and Jill Scholarship! The deadline has been extended due to the snow, but that could also mean that they didn’t get enough submissions. Which means…you could have a better chance at getting the scholarship! Get to it, scholars!!!!
