There is an issue with the county’s license for Turnitin.com currently so you will not be able to submit your assignments as instructed. I will post further instructions on how to submit your assignments in the next two weeks. Please remember that they are still do on the first day of class.

Rules for Writing Essays:
1) All essays are to be typewritten; double-spaced and must be between 300 to 500 words.
2) Type font size must be #12; the preferred font style is Times New Roman or Arial.
3) Essays must have a cover sheet attached, which will include only the following information: a) Name of student, first and last name. b) Grade level of student. c) Name of student’s English teacher. d) Telephone number and email address of the student.
4) Number of words in the essay being submitted. (Use Word Count)
5) Any quotations or excerpts that appear in the essay are to be clearly referenced.

A blast from the past! You will be revising and rewriting two essays that you wrote at the beginning of the year. This involves re-annotation, thesis revision, review of your original work and class discussion. Your annotations are due: 2/4 (A), 2/5 (B)
“Blackberry Picking”
We will be returning to “Blackberry Picking” by Seamus Heaney. You worked with this poem at the beginning of the year as part of your Pre-test for the course. You will annotate this poem and the accompanying prompt again in preparation for an in-class revision.

You have also now had tons of practice on the AP question 3 via your warmups. We will be revisiting the 2015 AP Question 3 this week as well. For the pre-work for this revision, you will re-annotate the prompt and develop a thesis based on your novel or play of choice. You may or may not want to choose your original book choice again.
